# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • It turns two beloved sandwiches into one satisfying meal that feels both indulgent and familiar.
  • Everything melts together in the pan, so each bite has crispy, creamy, and savory all at once.
  • You can make it with whatever you have on hand, and it still tastes like you planned it perfectly.
02 -
  • Do not skip drying the lettuce and blotting the tomato, or you will end up with a soggy sandwich that falls apart.
  • Medium heat is essential, high heat will burn the bread before the cheese melts, and I learned that the hard way on my first attempt.
  • Press gently if using a spatula, too much pressure squeezes out all the fillings and makes a mess.
03 -
  • Use a panini press if you have one, it makes the whole process faster and gives you perfect even browning on both sides.
  • If your skillet is not nonstick, add a tiny bit of butter to the pan itself before placing the sandwich in to prevent sticking.
  • Let the sandwich rest for a full minute after cooking, it makes slicing cleaner and keeps the fillings from sliding out.
